FAQ

What is the Home Run Challenge?

The Home Run Challenge is a partnership between Major League Baseball and the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) that helps raise money to find a cure for prostate cancer. Baseball fans pledge a dollar amount for each home run hit starting June 1, culminating on Father’s Day, June 18.

Why should I donate?

The Prostate Cancer Foundation funds vital research in order to find a cure for prostate cancer. Over the years, PCF funding has been a major part of the most significant discoveries in the field of prostate cancer research.

Where does the money go?

The money raised from the Home Run Challenge goes directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to fund vital research in order to find a cure for prostate cancer.

Is there a minimum/maximum donation amount?

Any donation over $0.50 is welcomed.

When will I be charged?

We will send you an email with your total the week after Father’s Day before charging your card. One-time donations are charged immediately.

Is this secure?

Yes. All payments are processed using state-of-the-art encryption and tokenization technology powered by Simplify Commerce (by MasterCard). All payment data is stored on the Simplify Commerce Level 1 PCI certified servers.

How many home runs were hit last year?

Last year, there were 241 home runs hit during the challenge.  But this year, the challenge is 3 times as long.  (The number of home runs hit last year during a similar time frame was 612.)
